New Volunteer Tool Helps Navistar Employees Do Good, Bring Their Best

For veterans and newcomers alike, Navistar’s volunteering spirit has been at the center of many admirable causes over the years—from large scale events like Breast Cancer Awareness Month to team volunteer days at local food pantries.
As an important part of Navistar’s Sustainable Impact pillar, our social impact goal involves positively impacting education, equity, and the environment. Attaining that goal will now become easier via a new volunteer platform, Benevity, a corporate social responsibility management tool, aptly launched during Volunteer Month.
Employees can leverage this new tool will help manage, track and report employee volunteering and contributions across Navistar's footprint. The platform will provide employees with access to charitable organizations and volunteer opportunities near their location that connect to our impact areas. Employees can use the tool to coordinate events and track engagement and volunteer hours.
Benevity allows employees to see more than 2 million vetted nonprofit organizations with which they can volunteer or donate to specific causes. This will ensure that all organizations have been vetted based on Navistar's criteria, as affiliation with organizations that are religious, for-profit, government, political, and hate groups does not meet the criteria. It gives employees the added confirmation that the non-profits they are supporting are carrying out an ethical mission. Through this platform, employees will also have an opportunity to propose cross-functional volunteer events, join events other teams have organized, and see upcoming opportunities in their area to volunteer.
