Meet Megan

My name is Megan Crabb and I am a 2020 Cum Laude graduate of University of Missouri's world-renowned School of Journalism. I received my Bachelor of Journalism with an emphasis in strategic communication and public relations, and a minor in psychology.

I currently work full time as a Senior Corporate Communications Specialist for Navistar Inc., the parent company of International Truck and IC Bus.

​

Navistar was recently bought by the German-based company TRATON GROUP, a subsidiary of Volkswagen, who owns Volkswagen Truck & Bus, Scania, RIO and MAN Truck & Bus. As part of the TRATON family, Corporate Communications works closely with our German counterparts on communication strategies and brand image.

On the Corporate Communications team, I:

• Create strategic messaging for internal and external channels

• Write press releases and media pitches

• Act as a media liaison between trade publications and our subject matter experts

• Create social media content, manage our corporate social channels and collect monthly analytics

• Am a trusted advisor for members of our executive team

  • Write thought leadership pieces and scripts for executive and senior level leaders

  • Create a weekly newsletter for our C-suite executives for industry awareness

• Reframed our team's use of media monitoring and public relations platform Cision​

  • Run Cision as the team's educational expert, teach best practices and platform rundowns​

  • Streamlined 30+ dashboards and 150+ searches down to 7 dashboards and 80 searches

• Work with a creative agency to continually refresh design and copy content for our corporate website

• Ghostwrite media bylines for subject matter experts

• Manage and update our communications style guide.

 

At Mizzou, I had the chance to meet and work with many individuals who are as passionate about my craft as I am. I have dabbled in news, radio and broadcast reporting, photography, graphic design, copywriting and editing, research, public relations and many other skills to ensure that I will be a well-rounded journalist.

 

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading, binging true crime and conspiracy theory podcasts, and following various medical/first responder TV shows. I often travel with my family in our camper and have visited some amazing places. I also am working on a novel I hope to have published someday.
