Ben Underhill - Employee of the Year

Bloomington, IL


FCAI is proud to announce Ben Underhill of McLean County Glass as a winner of the 2021 FCAI Excellence in the Industry Awards Series - Employee of the Year.


Ben Underhill started his career with McLean County Glass 21 years ago as an apprentice, eventually working his way up to a senior foreman position. During his time there, he has mentored multiple apprentices and journeymen, passing on valuable knowledge. Ben's overall knowledge of construction management has made him a vital liaison on numerous jobsites. His goal is to perform his work with the best possible quality to ensure a positive project outcome for all customers.


Outside of work, Ben enjoys coaching sports teams for his daughter, instilling good teamwork and work ethic skills into future generations. Ben is also a local essential worker and hero, working as a volunteer firefighter and first responder.



Mike LeGood - Employee of the Year

All-Tech Decorating Co.

Romeoville, IL


FCAI is proud to announce Mike LeGood of All-Tech Decorating (ATD) as a winner of the 2021 FCAI Excellence in the Industry Awards Series - Employee of the Year.


Mike has worked for ATD for over 12 years as a general superintendent, but provides over 40 years of industry experience. He oversees five ATD superintendents, strengthens the skills of painters, encourages productivity and positive work ethic, provides analyses of project management and leads ATD's safety culture. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Mike has focused on ensuring that all field teams are following CDC and ATD protocols to remain safe and healthy. His integrity and constant willingness to lend a hand to anyone is highly valued by those who work with him.


Mike has worked to build extremely strong working relationships with local unions to ensure all of his crews are following correct guidelines. He is very passionate about working with multiple non-profit organizations, often organizing company donations to local charities. With his positive attitude and encouraging personality, Mike is known around ATD as an approachable, dedicated and valued leader.



2021 Excellence in Safety Award - Roland Fillmore

Denk and Roche Builders, Inc.

Bensenville, IL


FCAI is proud to congratulate Roland Fillmore of Denk and Roche on winning the 2021 Excellence in Safety Award.


Roland has worked for Denk & Roche for 27 years, taking up the position of safety superintendent seven years ago. During an average year, he handles safety protocol and practice for 250 carpenters. In 2020, Roland developed and implemented a concise and timely COVID-19 safety protocol for both field and office staff.


Roland is heavily involved in workers' compensation claims, working diligently with employees and their physicians to help them get back to work as soon as possible. Throughout the past year, he performed over 160 safety inspections, also logging an additional 300 plus inspections performed by superintendents and foremen. Roland also manages Denk and Roche's extensive safety rewards program and schedules both daily and weekly toolbox talks.



2021 Excellence in Safety Award - Brittany Selin

All-Tech Decorating Co.

Romeoville, IL


FCAI is proud to congratulate Brittany Selin of All-Tech Decorating (ATD) on winning the 2021 Excellence in Safety Award.


Brittany has worked for All-Tech Decorating for nearly five years, starting her career as a safety intern during her senior year of college. Currently, she serves as ATD's safety director, receiving numerous awards over the past few years for her dedication and passion to safety.


One of Brittany's passions is the importance of mentoring and teaching. Despite working with employees of all ages and experience levels, she always manages to ensure that they all embrace learning about safety in the workplace. She has also grown ATD's Annual Safety Fest, even ensuring its continuation in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic by creatively organizing a vehicle parade and boxed lunches to celebrate.
