New Expansion is Set to Compete with Other OEM Parts Dealers

LISLE, Ill. (Sept. 3, 2019) – Navistar International Corporation’s (NYSE:NAV) all makes, all models parts branch, Fleetrite Parts, is in the process of opening multiple new stores across North America, expanding their reach during their 50th year in business.

Fleetrite offers 80 different lines and over 15,000 types of parts at 700 nationwide locations, majority of which are combined with International® dealerships. Fleetrite’s recent venture has consisted of opening more parts-only stores to better serve their customers. Eight new locations have opened in 2019, most of which are directly connected with nearby International® Truck dealers.

The eight new parts-only store locations include McCandless in Henderson, Nevada; two Sun State locations in Tampa, Florida; Border in El Paso, Texas; Kyrish in Dallas, Texas; Cumberland in Nashville, Tennessee; Watson in Hobbs, New Mexico and Halle in Ontario, Canada.

Fleetrite’s continued successes in the aftermarket parts business was the largest push for opening more locations, completing 2018 with $219 million in revenue, their sixth straight year of double digit revenue numbers. This put Fleetrite head-to-head with other major OEM parts distributers, such as Freightliner’s TRP and Volvo’s Alliance parts branches.

“With all of the recent headway we have been making in other parts of the business, such as our Love’s partnership and other ventures, we knew it was the right time to start expanding our parts reach as well,” said Mark Reiter, vice president, Global Product Support.

Navistar has been supporting this recent expansion by working with their Dealer Operations team to determine the best locations for new stores. Using heatmaps, data is collected on what market areas are being missed in parts sales and using the new stores to better serve these areas.

The new expansion goes hand-in-hand with Fleetrite’s 50th anniversary, which will be celebrated on September 2 of this year.

“Fifty years ago, we went from having one product line of batteries to 80 different lines,” said Josef Kory, senior vice president, parts. “The growth we have had recently is incredible, and we now have dealers nationwide who are interested in running new parts-only stores.”

Fleetrite will continue to open more parts-only locations in the upcoming years as a strategy to fill the parts shortage gaps around the country.
